WORKING WITH LINES
I have started to work with the idea of using surfaces as a start point. Often the beauty of timber, metal and other workable surfaces have their own beautiful marks so I am looking at using these, making small interventions in order to highlight the organic compositions on them.
This then led to combine with the idea of layering however still using the grain. In the largest work that I have done, I am started to use scale to highlight the intricacy of my work. This has allowed me to loosely play around with tone and the idea of lines formed by light bending. This set shown below has been made using a range of paint types and plenty of sanding back in order to create the ideal base for the line works to merge into the background rather than be two layered forms.
